Olsen’s exclusion leaves fight for runner-up spot open

Prema Powerteam driver Dennis Olsen has been stripped of his second-place finish in race one of the Eurocup Formula Renault season finale at Jerez.

Olsen, who originally finished just one second behind race winner Nyck de Vries on the road, was excluded from the race results due to a technical infringement.

The Norwegian’s exclusion promotes Jack Aitken to second and sees another Prema man Hans Villemi inherit his first podium in the category.

It also restores intrigue in the fight for the runner-up spot in the standings – with Olsen now back to 116, both Andrea Pizzitola at 108 points and Alex Albon at 105 could challenge for second in the championship in tomorrow’s race.
